Sustainable living made easy

Together with social actors, the Karlsruhe Transformation Center for Sustainability and Cultural Change explores the question of what sustainable development looks like in practice. People, communities and organizations that set out on the path to a more sustainable future are scientifically accompanied and supported. New ideas that advance sustainable lifestyles are welcome and encouraged. For example, the development of new technologies, modern forms of economic activity for the common good, or alternative structures of living together. Conventional, non-sustainable routines are to be replaced by new patterns of action - in the spirit of a culture of sustainability.

Gardening close to nature

Every citizen can make a valuable contribution to species and climate protection. And they can even do it in their own gardens. Since March 2020, the GrüneLunge project has been promoting nature-oriented gardening in private gardens.

Park(ing) Day - international day

Every year in September, the Park(ing) Day takes place worldwide as part of European Mobility Week. Under the motto "The city is for the people, not for the cars", people occupy parking spaces with the aim of thinking and using public space differently.
