Network "Real-world labs for sustainability"

Participate, exchange and inform

Logo of Real-World Labs Network

The "real-world labs for sustainability" network sees itself as a platform for real-world labs in German-speaking countries that research and act in the interests of sustainable development. The members of the network aim both to develop knowledge for sustainable development and to initiate concrete change processes: Research and practice go hand in hand for a more sustainable future. The network sees itself as part of a transformative research landscape and provides guidance, support and information.

The real-world lab network is an initiative by the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, the Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, the Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt, Energie and the Ecological Research Network. The network is coordinated by the Karlsruhe Transformation Center.

Annual conference 2022

On June 3, 2022, around 80 members of the real-world lab network came together in Karlsruhe for the annual conference. As part of the two-day conference "Real-world laboratories in transformation", participants were able to network, exchange ideas and develop new approaches. Various ideas for future activities and collaboration within the network were discussed in a "Gallery Walk".
