Open-air living room

After a break of a few years, we have organized an open-air living room again in July 2025

The concept: liven up the public space in front of your home! Set up a table and chairs in front of the door, enjoy coffee and cake and strike up a conversation with your neighbors and passers-by.

Under the motto "Cohesion and Neighborhood", the citizens of Karlsruhe's Oststadt were cordially invited to take a break from everyday life, talk to their neighbors and discover life on their doorstep. For one day, we wanted to experience the Oststadt together, exchange ideas and enjoy each other's company. To accompany this, we opened the Zukunftsraum for workshops on the day of the event and organized a colourful programme for young and old in the immediate vicinity:

  • 2 PV balcony power plants Upcycling workshops
  • FutureSWERKSTATT 2025+ district
  • The Zukunftsraum was open and could be visited. We are also pleased that the MobiLab was on site.
  • The artist duo Hoernemann & Walbrodt accompanied the afternoon.

The open-air living room is an initiative of the real-world laboratory "Quartier Zukunft - Labor Stadt", which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025.
